I am an IT for a company here in Utah, i didn't see any reviews before for this product so i bought it and decided to test it out and the first patch cable i made i saw all the green lights on it the patch cable was working properly and i even though my wife how to make patch cables a while ago now she makes them whenever she sees that an end is broken whenever i am at work and what not my wife and i are really happy that she gets to have a cat5e cable tester to see how she did on her patch cables.
I really recommend this product to others!!!!!!

Got this to replace my old cat5 tester which went on the fritz. Nothing fancy but works just fine. I like how the test lights light up on each device, so if you're testing a line that's installed in a building you can see that it works on either end. My old one only lit up on one of the devices when both were connected, which could involve extra running around to see if the cable was good if you weren't mindful of how you connected the tester. I also like the power switch, which would be difficult to turn on by accident. My old tester had the push button type, which was easy to bump and accidently leave the device turned on. The smaller device also attaches to the larger one, making it easier not to lose it. The only downside is that there's no case included.
