 Not a complete solution by a long shot, By DaveU (San Francisco Bay Area) - See all my reviews This review is from: Digivue EC-PC-CAM USB PC CAMERA (Personal Computers) I bought one of these to help me figure out which neighbor's dog is making messes outside my front door. This camera is able to be part of the solution but is far from complete.Why might you buy one of these? 1 - To be a webcam with night vision but no software other than the driver and four year old freeware. If that's what you want, go with Logitech, Microsoft, or some other brand that actually sells you a fully-functional webcam. 2 - To be a surveillance camera or nanny-cam in a location right next to a PC that is on all the time. On the plus side, the camera is powered by the USB cable, so you don't need to worry about POE or a wall wart. On the downside, that limits your cable length. You can extend USB cables but not all that far. The mount on the camera is designed to clip onto a laptop or LED monitor.
